On Friday, I traveled to the Edinburgh International Book Festival to perform in the famed Spiegeltent with composer Linda Buckley. Linda and I have appeared together at a number of events this year, and we were delighted to bring our performance to Edinburgh. Joining us on stage were the immensely talented Aifric MacAodha, Ceara Conway, and two of Scotland’s finest traditional musicians, Brighde Chaimbeul and Aidan O’Rourke. This event was made possible by the generosity of Culture Ireland, Poetry Ireland, and The Irish Traditional Music Archive. We were delighted to be joined by a large and enthusiastic audience, among them the director of The Scottish Poetry Library, Asif Khan, and Ireland’s Ambassador to Britain, Adrian O’Neill. My gratitude to everyone who joined us for what was an enchanting display of lyric, music, and song.
