Last night, in the heart of Dublin, we had a wonderful celebration of two new books from Dedalus Press: ‘The Quick’ by the deeply talented poet Jessica Traynor, and my new collection ‘Lies’ which draws on a decade of my translations of my poems as Gaeilge.
This book would never have come about if it weren’t for Dedalus Press – it was all the idea of my editor Pat Boran that I assemble this volume of translations, and I am so glad of his encouragement, and that of his partner Raffaela Tranchino. They have made such a beautiful object of this book. I’ve been so lucky over the years to have had the support and encouragement of many other poets as I was writing these poems, agus ba mhaith liom buíochas ar leith a ghabháil le hAifric MacAodha, Pádraig Ó Snodaigh, Biddy Jenkinson, agus le Gabriel Rosenstock.
Dedalus are sending ‘Lies’ into the world in fantastic company this autumn, alongside beautiful books by John Kelly and Jessica Traynor. You may like to purchase these books from Dedalus Press here.
